Egor Mosolov

Egor Mosolov is Partner and Lead Architect at Nefaproject. He has been a RIBA Chartered Architect since 2025 and is registered with the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK), registration no. A228878. His professional background combines architectural education in Moscow and Cyprus, sustainable design, experience within established Cypriot practices and more than a decade of work in the local architectural and construction environment.
 

Egor began his architectural education in Moscow, completing a four-year programme in Architecture at the Moscow College of Architecture and Construction No. 7 in 2011. During this period, he also began working with Nefaproject, gaining his first practical experience through direct involvement in architectural projects.
 

He then moved to Cyprus and continued his studies at the University of Nicosia, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, a Professional Diploma in Architecture and, in 2016, a Master of Arts in Architecture with a concentration in Sustainable Architecture.
 

Sustainable architecture became an important part of his approach to design. Climate, orientation, solar exposure, shading, natural light and ventilation, energy demand and long-term building performance are considered from the outset as architectural questions rather than added later as technical requirements. This is particularly relevant in Cyprus, where intense sun, heat and the relationship between interior and exterior space have a direct influence on the way buildings are planned and experienced.
 

During his university years, Egor worked for two years with veteran Cypriot architect Evangelos Polycarpou. The experience provided an early introduction to the architectural culture of Cyprus and to the working methods of an older generation of local architects.
 

After completing his studies in 2016, Egor worked with Cypriot architect Andreas Vassiliou. This marked a more formal stage of his professional development and gave him direct experience of local architectural practice, including regulatory requirements, consultant coordination, approvals and construction.
 

Between 2017 and 2019, Egor also worked with a number of other local architects, preparing planning and building-permit drawing packages for projects in Cyprus. This provided a detailed practical understanding of how planning policy and building regulations are translated into architectural documentation and taken through the local approval process. During the same period, he began working directly with his own clients and taking responsibility for independent commissions.
 

Throughout these years, his involvement with Nefaproject continued in parallel. Egor worked with Garold Mosolov on projects in both Russia and Cyprus, including early commissions on the island where Nefaproject was invited to contribute as an international design architect in collaboration with locally registered architects, engineers and consultants.
 

In 2019, Egor and Garold established Nefaproject Ltd in Cyprus, bringing together the studio’s existing design practice with Egor’s architectural education in Cyprus, experience within local practices and growing knowledge of the island’s regulatory and construction environment.
 

The same year, work on a private residence in Paphos demonstrated a different side of his approach to architecture. Together with Moscow artist Savva Arkhipov, Egor conceived and created a monumental hand-assembled mosaic covering more than 400 m². He was involved not only in its design but also in its physical making. In Paphos, a place with an exceptional historical tradition of mosaic art, the work created a direct connection between architecture, material, craftsmanship and the cultural context of the place.
 

Between 2020 and 2022, Egor worked on several commissions for RCB Bank in Cyprus, including the bank’s headquarters at Trilogy Limassol Seafront. The work involved direct collaboration with the bank as client and extensive coordination with the international architects, engineers, consultants and specialist teams involved in the wider Trilogy development. It required the bank’s own architectural and operational requirements to be developed within an already complex building, technical and construction framework.
 

Today, Egor leads Nefaproject’s architectural practice in Cyprus. His work combines architectural design, sustainable design principles and detailed knowledge of the local planning, regulatory and construction environment across private residential, residential development and commercial projects.
 

He works directly with clients in both English and Russian. Having studied and worked in both Moscow and Cyprus, he understands not only the language but also the cultural expectations and ways of working familiar to Russian-speaking clients, while helping them navigate the professional and regulatory environment of Cyprus.

Together with Garold Mosolov, Egor maintains Nefaproject’s principle of direct senior involvement: the architects who establish a project’s direction remain personally involved as it develops.
